A 2-stream school has 2 parallel classes per year group (e.g. JHS 1A and JHS 1B). This affects how classrooms are distributed across year groups.

Assumptions

·This calculator computes raw physical capacity based on classrooms and class size. It does not account for specialist rooms (science labs, computer labs, art rooms) that may reduce the number of rooms available for regular classroom teaching.
·Actual sustainable enrolment is typically 85–90% of physical maximum capacity. Operating at 100% leaves no buffer for room maintenance, overflow, or special events.
·Multi-shift schools (morning and afternoon shifts using the same classrooms) can effectively double capacity — enter only one shift's classrooms if running a multi-shift model.
·Boarding schools should separately assess dormitory capacity, which may be the binding constraint rather than classroom space.
·This calculator does not assess toilet, water, or playground capacity — all of which are regulated by GES and other national education authorities and may impose lower limits than classroom capacity alone.
